Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Twice my silkie girl Snowball has wandered off - a long way. I found her once and my son on his 4-wheeler found her once. She has never gone more than a few feet until the past two weeks. I'm not sure what she is thinking now.
Silkies think? Mine seem to have a hard time figuring how to get into the pen they have lived in their whole lives

Nova, the partridge-colored bird in your first pic looks like hen-colored to me, sure it's not a pullet?

Pepper plants do not tolerate dryness well, and will not produce much if allowed to dry out too much. Maybe the soil in partially shaded areas stays moister.

hm... know what would really get their goat! a mural on the door that looks like the door is open.... and there's chickens inside! Paint it to look like a coop! LOL!

ABSOLUTELY!!!!

But I'm sure Garden City has zoning laws regarding pictures of chickens and coops, too . . . if not - make the mural holographic to make it look like the chickens are moving. And have a recording of chickens and a rooster in the background, lol.

Garage is finished. Well at least this side.

Well, I do need to put the fascia trim up yet. What colour? Red or green?

Just in case anyone wonders, the last 2 photos were taken from the neighbor's yard, 2 doors up. I had permission to be in his yard. No trespassing was involved in obtaining these photographs.
definitely florescent/glow in the dark lime green, with the chicken coop mural on the door.

Nothing to do with chickens, but this video is so cute and funny I had to share. Made my day. Hope it makes yours!

The other thing he could do is paint a blind with goat peeking out the window........ and maybe a pig or cow out the other window........ lol. Surely they don't have a ordinance against curtains with a pattern on them? ;)

oh and Raz........ I got an idea in my head per the PM you sent me.

Remember the little egg I posted a pic of? We got another today and it was on the little girl's side. Now we are sure that at least one of the girls I raised from day olds are laying. YAY! One little egg was on the floor in the coop (the nesting boxes on that side are still blocked off). DH opened the boxes up and another little girl went right inside. We are expecting that she will lay any time now! These little girls are 15 weeks old. Oddly enough, the one that laid and the other one about to are the two who were picked on by the others. Since that little egg was layed, the pecking has stopped. I'm not even gonna try to figure out what these chickens think!

Gardening news- I will be bringing some Yukka plants to chickenstock for those who wanted it. I will probably have some day lillies too.

If anyone has tomato plants that they didn't get into the ground, I will take them off your hands. We have not gotten around to a veggie garden and I want some Maters!!!

Ok silly, white pair it is. $5 for the faverolles cockerel, I am bringing two, take your pick.
1mutt... the bird in the first and second pick, same bird, just different angles. Like I said, I'd be inclined to think he's a she if it weren't for the red coming in over the tail. I am bringing the birds that weren't already picked out by the 4h kids with me. Those will be for sale for any who are interested. $15 a pair, $20 a trio.

Speaking of siding things......we are going to get our big coop sided this year. I was at HD yesterday and what did I find, but 3 gallons of deck paint (that can also be used for fences and siding) that I'm going to mix together to make a LOVELY light..............purple. Yes. My husband is going to allow me to paint our 10x16 coop purple. I can hardly believe it! I'm guessing I'll need another 2 gallons or so to cover all of it.

Can't you picture it? Green metal roof.....light lilac-purple siding.....and white trim. I'll be soooooo cute!

I LOVE purple. Tho I admit, I just recently painted mine traditional barn colors; red, white trim, green metal roof.
You have to post pix of yours when it's done!
