Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Please don't tell the neighbors that I am housing evil, forked-toed, devil chickens. They already want to pillory me for being a pagan druid who practices vundun and earth-magick while singing sky-clad in the shower.

LOL, ok, I won't.

Oh... quick story... Neighbors place... but those are my birds in the front... They've put a 5 foot high fence in the back to keep the birds from being all over... mostly to keep them from my yard. Really annoys the poop out of them when they come over and get in my coops and hang out at my feeders and just be... social. LOL

Strutter waits by the door everyday waiting for them to come out... he's missng their pullets... Poor baby...
SO... Yeah, the five foot fence...

This is what they thougth of the fence. They flew over in mass exudus. LOL. Andrew, was standing mouth agog. I was laughing. They went and bought some clippers, caught the ladies and cut their flight feathers... Yeah... don't see that lasting long.

Back to mine..
Florus has had his tail... trimmed. He is really good with the phoenix chicks. Never harasses them or anything. He's starting to act like a typical well mannered faverolle... sort of. He still goes after Strutter. I guess some one needs to be the low totem roo

Ah... Strutter. I love me some Strutter... Have you ever seen a prettier roo? Ok.. I am biased, but you have to admit, he's a stunner.

Ok that is it for today. A quick update on my Little Pretty. New skin completely covers all the wounds. It is very thin over the part that was ripped open, being able to see down into the muscle between wing and back... shoulder area I guess. Her neck is also completely covered in new skin. I am keeping her confined still until that new skin is a bit thicker. Reminds me of tissue paper looking at it now.

We got DUMPED on. The cloud formed overhead, rained and didn't move for about an hour, thunder and lightning. I don't know how much rain but it was crazy. Then the tall clouds collected the setting sun and filtered it down in the form of orange and brown light. Freaky but awesome! NOT Photoshopped! That's it, carry on.

Are those Jacob's sheep? Very pretty!

Hello Everyone! I'm Tracy I live in Morrice MI and I'm new to the chicken world. We just recently finished our chicken coop and bought 6 laying hens. (3 Isa browns, 1 barred rock, and 2 buff orpingtons) they are 5 months to a year old and all from the same owner. We have had them for 4 days now and are getting 3 eggs a day. I'm thinking that the other 3 hens got a little stressed out so I'm hoping soon they will start laying again since i was told by the couple we bought them from that they all layed well. I'm sure this heat we have been having isn't helping either. I just wanted to pop in and say hello and i look forward to learning a lot from all of you. :)

Welcome Tracy!

Oh, that's what the third ticket was for, Raz!

Maybe the third ticket is for being outspoken.
It seems to be a criminal activity to question authority. Such as this...
