Don't think I can offer much advice about raising goats. One of my sons had several for quite awhile and his chickens moved in and out of the goat pen without incident. While I have been called an "Old Goat" I don't think that is enough to qualify as a Capra aegagrus hircus expert.

Looks like I'm going to look at some goats tonight!

Good luck! I loved my goats growing up... Only problem was my mom wasn't fond of them for a very good reason. They would always climb on their house, a log, anything they could get up on, and jump out of the pen. Strangely, the first place they would run is to the top of our cars. Once, they got out as my mom was backing out of the driveway and they jumped on her car and wouldn't let her leave... She wasn't too happy about the scratches on her car, but I tried to point out the fact that her cats did the same thing... Not a convincing argument.

Look forward to hearing about them and seeing pictures!

Cool! Have fun!

If you need goat specific help, BYC has a sistersite, Backyardherds. Lots of goat people are there to promptly answer questions.
Very good to know, I wondered where I would find a BYC of sorts for goats and rabbits, anyone know of one for rabbits?
