Well Farmerboy and Evermystique I'm not feeling so bad now. I have 60 girls and have been getting 3 eggs! Which was a great time to worm them but now I'm thinking I won't have any for my customers.
I am very frustrated with weather at this point. I have a new small coop that has been sitting empty all of October. It needs to be caulked as there are a few spots on the high end of the roof where rain blows in and drips all the way down the slope of the roof. So one side ends up with the floor wet. We have not had a day all of October where things dried out enough to caulk it. My poor little birds are cooped up in a tiny windowless summer coop now with snow outside. I'm thinking I may be have to drag out a blow dryer and just dry those spots.
I also ended up with 10 more birds than I wanted to go into winter with. Some of the small roosters will go to my brother to butcher although I'm not sure how much he will get out of a bantam. I have one big roo I'm not sure about. He (Fred) is super friendly and nice to me but has taken over head rooster position is just a bully to the other roosters. It is so hard for me to watch our once head rooster (Mr. Fuzzy) lose his position. Mr. Fuzzy had an eye infection that after talking to the vet I did not treat as most do not require antibiotics I was told. Well, whatever it was affected his sight and that has resulted in his losing his head rooster position. So I feel a bit responsible. So I'm not sure what to do about Fred and I go out of my way to give Mr. Fuzzy treats.
