Hey Opa...or anybody else...you know those round roof vents you see that are about 12 inches across.....I had a thought.....what if I turned those upside down and mounted them to the ceiling of my coop for ventilation? Does my theory have any validity?

If it's the kind I think you're talking about, those are designed to have the wind blow through
And suck the air in the coop up and out.plus they keep water from getting in.

It's not like the fan one(which I think your talking about)...I believe it's just a passive method of releasing heat. I didn't think of the fan one though....good idea...might have to add one or two of those.....thanks!

No, not with a fan, just an open vent.

find a photo on line ... I would say if it was made to go on top, no, if it was made to be used inside, then possibly yes.

so you want to use that inside instead of outside? On the roof right?

I would just put it on the roof outside, you still would have to have a hole for it to blow through to vent the air.

and, you'll have to cover the hole outside if you used it inside... not cost effective this way. and it would be impossible to clean it if used inside.

Plus, you will want to consider the size of your coop and volume of air being pulled from the coop.. may end up pulling too much cold in ...

I have one of these (gas vents) on top of my little coop.
