Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Matt, if you still have your pullets a bit later, let's say if it warms up a bit, I'll take them. Right now, I don't have the space to separate them. With this cold, I brought my bantams into the heated garage. Makes taking care of them a lot easier.

I'm so happy that I have the heated dog dishes for my hens. And happy to have a broody to keep the eggs from freezing!

Anyone have a extra bunny laying around? One of mine died and the other is lonely.
I rescued a LOP from a town lady who found my name on an old TSC rabbit-for-sale sign. She was going to set it free - in town. I took it and planned to re-home but guess what? My wife decided we'd keep it. Oh my, I don't need another rabbit, especially a breed I don't breed. If you lived closer you could come kidnap it! Did you check the animal shelters? I just saw a rabbit on one of them somewhere...

I keep forgetting to ask my neighbor who volunteers at the HS. This rabbit will be kept outside, in a huge run (chicken) so don't want a show rabbit. I will try and remember to ask her.

The LOP was no show rabbit and was kept in a small wire cage outside all her life. She has sores on her pads. Momma washed her and presently she's in a temporary cage with a house and solid floor. I'll have to build another rabbit mansion now, sheeesh! Oh, and I just was on Craigslist Muskegon and saw a free bunny. Go on CL and search fro free rabbits in your neck of the woods. Or come kidnap Fluffernutter, yep, my grandson named her apparently.

Would anyone be interested in a thread for those of us in MI that incubate and have chicks from time to time? I've been rolling the idea around in my brain for awhile......just a way to find out who has what and when they usually incubate and if you would be willing to sell/give away your chicks. I really enjoy hatching, but I definitely don't have room to keep everything I hatch.
I would! :)

The chicken diaper seems to have turned out and does what it needs to. The only problem I see is when it's time to change it. The buttons are easy when putting on a clean diaper but not so great when taking off a dirty one. I'm thinking snaps may work better.

since there seems to be some interest, does anyone know WHERE I should put a "chicks/hatching eggs in MI" thread? as in, which sub-forum? I have no idea.
