Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Well, Im stoked today! Got 15 eggs in the mail and 10 of my own sitting ready to go in the bator tomorrow afternoon. My 10 should all be Blue Copper Marans and the 15 mail eggs should be a mix of Blue Copper, Black Copper and splash. Cant wait to see how this turns out!

I just dusted the whole coop (lice. ugh.) so I'm not keeping ANY eggs that aren't 100% intact. If it's just a small crack and the membrane isn't broken I feed it to the dogs generally.

WOW ....you can ship eggs in this freezing weather? That would make me very nervous!

Good luck on your hatch!

Dusting products may contain several different chemicals such as organophosphates (OP's) and all have a specific withdrawal time, as some of it is ingested/absorbed by the treated animal and can pass on into the eggs, meat and milk. There is growing evidence that even small amounts of many chemicals thought safe can cause harm in the long term. Check the product label for proper withdrawal times.
