There are a ton of responses here within the ten (10) links. Some are for backyard farming and some are against it.

I ask that if you want to read through the responses; take some notes and objectively decide how you might be affected. And then take into consideration how the rest of the state population may be affected.

Some interesting, serious and fun responses. Raz Your letter was very good. I wish there would have been more from my area but only saw a couple. I LOVED the mayor of Howell's response and found it interesting that the council lady from Gwinn was pushing more, knowing the fight that's going on up there. I'm curious on number of responses.

There seems to be some missing letters that were mailed. Also missing are the e-mails sent directly to the commissioners, director and governor.
We are counting the total responses as published by MDARD. Both for and against the proposed changes. Note that each link has 100 pages of text to read.

I have only read through the first three (3) links so far and it seems that many people are FOR small farm operations. Give us a couple of days and we will be able to chart the actual "pros" and "cons" in a simple factual chart. The problem that I have is reading the emotional responses that people have written. So many letters describe the emotional attachments that people have in caring for their animals and how that has enriched their lives and their communities.

I think that facts may be better presented to the commissioners. Assuming of course that they are reasonable, intelligent people.

@chickwhispers
Forgot to answer you're question a few days ago. Yes, I DID get to watch the last half of Puppy Bowl X!! Way too cute.
At the end, they show a lot of the puppies being picked up by their "forever home" parents; during the bowl they show clips of past Puppy Bowl pups & how they are doing at their forever homes....all in all, just a very uplifting & fun show...started watching it a few years ago.

I just came in from taking Hope to her son's house where she babysits each day. She was apprehensive about driving herself and after making the drive I think she was smart to have me take her. The roads are starting to become snow covered and it was difficult in several places to know with certainty exactly where the center of the road was at.. So if you must be somewhere at a certain time I highly suggest that you allow lots of extra time.

have not gotten through all the posts just yet as my computer froze. of those I have finished I really liked the response of David Cox VERY GOOD points of legality.
I was impressed by Cole Peterson because he could write in cursive something they are not teaching in schools any more. Hope to get back to more reading later today.

THANK YOU RAZ for posting this, It gives many ideas for a more intelligent sounding response with many good points

I'm new to back yard chickens and live up by big rapids and was wondering what is a good chick to start with for eggs and meat and then I would love to get my daughter a bird to bring to the 4-h. Ever since I started talking about chickens she wants one for her self any ideas
