.....that may work with an annoyed neighbor........ but if you get a vindictive A hat neighbor like Raz and others I've heard about. There is nothing you can do. Some people simply hate the idea of eating fresh food, or living near "dirty" animals and they don't care what your rights are.
Farming is such an emotional rollercoaster....... but I think I'm a much better person for it than if I never tried.
Indeed, it only takes one person making an anonymous call to create all sorts of problems. I could go on and on about the one. I'll refrain.
Farming...caring...responsibility. Different words that describe the ways we care for our animals; our crops; our friends. That emotional roller-coaster you speak of applies to our humanity. And the way we connect with each other.

Posting to prove I REALLY AM a dedicated (okay, crazy) chicken owner...just got back inside from checking on the meat chickens, thunderstorm woke me up at 2:30 AM and I couldn't stop worrying if the meaties in the hoop coop were alright and dry. I had forgot to stake down the wall flap that I can lift when it gets hot during the summer. So I'm out pounding stakes in the middle of of a thunder/lightning storm :/ Probably saved at least a few lazybutt lives that didn't scoot away from the open side. Okay---I am going back to bed---sheesh.

So i have 2 questions today. 1-there is an article/ad on here today i read about sterilizing ur chicken water, suggested using oxy E-100 and zyfend a for deworming. Says it's all natural and you can still eat the eggs. I don't like giving my animals nor myself anything they don't need, but this sounded good and said it would help avoid salmonella and other stuff. Just looking for opinions on whether it would be good or just a waste of money if you keep everything clean anyways.

2nd-is their a type of feed that u can safely feed chickens, ducks and turkeys, instead of feeding each one separate? Or does it matter if once in awhile, when they are on free range time, going into each other's runs and chowing some? I just started letting the 12wk old chicks range a bit and i will be putting the 6wk old turkeys out soon too. Thanks
