I hate when I get an egg like this. The shell is broken but the membrane is intact.


I don't mind all that much really, that egg just goes right to the frying pan.

PS Don't mind the dirty and broken fingernails, I was working the gardens today.

So, as long as the membrane is intact you can still use the egg? I had no idea. I had a cracked shell, but no oozing yesterday and I tossed it. Guess I should've asked.

I do. That egg was laid today
Other than the small break in the shell, it was intact.
I can't sell it but I can eat it. And it was mighty fine for supper.
Nothing goes to waste here.

I either eat it or give to the chickens (cooked), I do hate throwing out scraps that the chickens can eat

I still scratch my head at the whole feeding eggs to chickens thing. It just seems odd to me.

I should also mention that the egg was clean. There was no debris of any kind and I collected it within less than an hour of being laid.
Had there been any debris or an extended period of time that egg would have been used as a dog treat.

Just because I do something does not mean that others should. I dance with the devil every day and I don't encourage others to do the same.
