Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Actually I never watch the news. I don't have cable (by choice), and don't care to. I can read about any news that I care to online.
Ditto that. We haven't had cable/dish in 7 years. Other than a few shows we like (which we get from the library), we don't miss it at all.

Farmerboy, I love pancake. That is a hilarious photo.

Good job on your piglet. I would've had a hard time dealing with something like that. And I have to say, the photo/note for Micah from his parents, well really, I have no words, but it was touching.

My poor dog is in pain. She half fell/jumped off the couch last night and landed against the corner of the coffee table. She seemed ok last night, but when the kids let her out of her crate this morning they noticed that she would whimper or yelp when laying down. I looked her over when I got home from work and her eyes seemed off and really dilated so I ran her to the vet. Unfortunately, there was a line down near the vet so they only had generator power and could only look her over by hand and not x-ray. They noted the eyes, but she wouldn't make any sounds to indicate she was hurt so they gave me an anti-inflammatory pain pill to give her and told me to bring her back if she wasn't any better by Monday. Poor girl. I gave her the first pill and she fell right asleep, but she is still whimpering/yelping when she gets up or lays down. I really hate to hear her in pain like that.

It's not exactly chicken related directly, but this is the new "toy" that I picked up today to replace the old one that is kaput.

Maybe it is chicken related...
I raked the dry run, piled up the sweepings and ran them through the vac machine for top dressing of the area that I reseeded today.
Even though the hay is a year old, it still retains that sweet smell of timothy grass as it got ground up.

It doesn't look like much now, but next week it should be nice and green.

Teeville is the pain pill Rimadyl? That can cause sleepiness but it was helpful in a hen we had that had arthritis.

Wow! That is some Shredder/Vacuum RaZ!

Yes, it is. She's a whippet and is sensitive to medications so we just figured that that was why she fell asleep so soon after getting it.

My vet gave me Meloxicam (7.5 mg) for Majick, my 12 YO Samoyed who has arthritis. He naps often but I don't think it is because of the medication. His joint pain seems better with the meds.

That vac is going to see a lot of use/abuse. The old one was about 15 years old and still works but this is probably the last season for it.

The vet assistant told me to give it to her with some food, too. She also said to keep it out of her reach (off the counter top) because they taste just like doggie treats and she could get a hold of it and chew through the bottle to eat them all so I put it on the top book shelf in my room.

Ah tee, hope your dog feels better soon.

Ruby, my puggle got hit by a car 2 days ago. Believe it or not, she got up, shrugged it off and took off after the darn cat. She's under my feet now like nothing ever happened. Yeah...

ANYWAY! Roger is a daddy again. Only I do not think he'll be fathering them this time... The fostering mom is not to fond of Roger. She was a Mr. Fluffers girl.
BUT here they are!

Its yellow and black...

And the Mama who hatched them is not a silkie...

AND! This is what I found behind the brooder box today when I realised that the silkies were hatching a day early and had to hurry to get them in here and Skeeter back in a different next box with the Aug 25 hatch. SHE WAS SO MAD! Until I put her on her eggs. Well anyway...

They were under a shelf, behind the brooder, between, they had to go around my air compressor, which blocks it pretty good. They had to squeeze between the compressor and the wall! OMG, 3 different chickens eggs here. LOL.
