Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

They push out at the bottom and are hinged at the top. So they swing out. It is one big window (a full glass screen door repurposed from the house). There are two furring strips to keep it from being pushed inward until I get the supporting frame inside and a hardware screen built to put on the inside.

I couldn't leave the eaves open as the snow and rain were blowing in up there. ;)

Still a lot of work to do on it. I'm no carpenter as you can tell. But the flock seem to like it well enough.

Sam, so sorry for your families loss....

Taprock is that *the* pelt that got you the beer lable?
:D

Not the Easter coyote, this was my first.

My birds are outside! And their coop is a toasty 45 degrees. Toasty as opposed to the 26 it is outside. I hope it warms up some. Our church is having a pumpkin event. We have a trebuchet, yes I know why does a church have a trebuchet, but always everyone brings a pumpkin or old Jack o lantern and we toss them. There is also a catapult but it isn't nearly as impressive. Then this evening we have a 4-h dinner/awards. It's a costume contest and I hope to get my son a ride pass for next years fair with my costume.

And just to add we still have powdered sugar here, it didn't warm up yesterday.

So sorry for your loss Opa.
The iris picture and leaf picture are very nice!

Sorry for the loss of your ewe Silly chicken.

I'll be putting one similar on my coop this weekonly smaller. I was wondering how well it would work! Thanks for posting the pictures they are very helpful!

You are welcome. I put a window from the house in the south side but it slides back and forth and rain does get inside there. :( But it was what I had to work with.

It is based on the Woods Open Air coop design. Hopefully I will finish before it rots away. I did not support the floor enough and since I used osb I had it is already bowing between the supports.

Remains a work in progress.

Mine too is a work in progress. Chicken math has made that progress even longer. My coop was already here and was constructed like a barn with a hay loft above. Which I use for storage. Once I get the lower half constructed how I want again, it will be time to work on the upper level which will also get a window like that.

Water out in my tractor froze pretty solid last night. I got home late from GVSU getting whipped by Ashland and I was a little worked up about that, took me a while to wind down from it. Anyways, about 5 oclock or so I took a salsa jar and heated some water up in the microwave to put out there in the tractor for my girls so that they would have something to drink and then I brought their water inside in the mud room to give it a chance to thaw out. Got back up around 8ish to put the waterer back out there, then slepted in till 11.

Anybody else here bumping into walls now because of the time change??
