Hi, MI!
Well, last night I added a second heat lamp to my 8x12 walk in coop around 6:00pm. It got to be a toasty 12*F. Today at 3:30pm they were enjoying a balmy 19*F. I got 9 eggs yesterday, 10 today plus a witch egg the size of a robin egg. 9 and 10 out of a possible 14 is pretty good! Go AWAY rotten cold snap!

yikes. that stinks. Definitely easier than digging in that snow. I hope you have no problems replacing it.
Yeah, I was able to run over to the main office of my Credit Union in Adrian while I was out running some errands for dad after his surgery yesterday. They printed one off for me there. Got my horse back on my card now. My card expired back in october and the replacement one didn't have the horses on it like what the old one had. So glad yesterday is over with. Dad's surgery went really good. Doctor got both bones lined up easy, and just put in 4 screws to hold his radius and ulna together. Only took about a half hour for the doctor to get that done once he was in the OR. Then it was just babysitting him last night. Ended up with Dad getting his driveway cleared out for cheap this morning.
yep, DH had to travel today... would have gone right through the 94 mess. He calls me and said "did you hear anything about a 30 car pile up on 94?" I said its over 90 cars, yes. (120 cars) So I had to help find an alternate route for him to steer clear of it. And the one on 23 is just down the road. Thank goodness for google maps!!

I'd avoid the hwy as much as possible until the darn truckers slow the heck down. I had a bunch pass me like I was sitting still last night coming home from dog training.

How much of the Powdered sugar has everyone gotten? In AA it looks like 4-5 inches, with drifting. And we're supposed to get about 3 more inches tonight.
Welcome to the new folks, and nice to see you back Farmer! I love your little jersey/highland calf!
Kinda looks more like 3-4 around here. I saw some idiot this morning trying to pass a Lenawee County plow truck on M52. Its not just the truckers that cause problems out there. There's plenty of idiots out there that are usually going too **** fast in the weather conditions. I know US-12 looked ok today, but there were some spots where felt my rear end on my car being a bit squirrelly, especially when the wind really blasted it. I always have felt the wind a lot in the Malibu.

Well night 2 for 2 of no sleep..got 2 hours early yesterday morn; don't foresee any tonight :(

Glad everyone that had to be on the roads yesterday made it through safely..was a crazy day on the freeways/roads.

DH just ran to the store, our driveway is drifted over (from only about 3" of snow). Neighbor's SIL's truck stuck, luckily our Hummer can make it through. He'll pull the other truck out in the morn.
Guess we'll be calling our plow guy tomorrow. Though it's an unending battle if there are strong westerly winds.

Yep, already sick of winter ....

Haha some conversations with kids.

I told my son he needs to turn on his brain motivation switch. He told me its off and broken, and he's not getting it fixed today. Lol. He's six BTW.

The chores don't seem as odious when the sun is shining.
Got the coop cleaned and that wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I was told to take is easy after the surgery so I used that as an excuse to be lazy.

And that snow we got last night? Well it was cleared away with the push broom. Hardly worth the effort. Certainly not worth gassing up the snow thrower. I guess even the snow avoids Garden City.
