Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Anyone that lives close enough to Ann Arbor to get there at 8:30 am to help catch some rescue geese, and hopefully wants a few for pets, not to be eaten. Please pm me with your contact information. Ideas on how to capture them would also be helpful.

The geese are at a park in Ypsilanti, where they are being harassed. Most are toulouse type with a pair of pekin as well. I was hoping to get a few people to arrange a day to see if we could round them up and rehome them. The person who started this is going to try to catch the severly injured and have them treated before hand. But she lives in the city and can't have animals.

Bookend moms.
5 weeks old and they are roosting with the big girls. These are the eggs I picked up at CS that Lucy (left) and Yogi (right) co-brooded.
I think that the 2 chicks on the left are roos. Both are trouble makers but the white one is Dennis the Menace.

Now the eggs from Uncle John are these fine looking KCs who have outgrown the hen that hatched them.
It's hard to tell from the photos but they are getting big. They have found the big pond and that freaks out the mother hen when they go swimming.

What park? Maybe I can help round them up. I just can't keep them afterwards.

Are they domestics that were maybe 'released'?

Those BLRW are gorgeous! I'm a little jealous. Between dogs and winter I couldn't keep any of mine alive except for one.

So I have a tomato issue. It's mid-August. I still do not have any red tomatoes. I have had 3 that have started to ripen (got to the orange stage) and then the *$%#@ ground squirrel ate them. And I'm not talking about a few tomato plants. I'm talking about 50 or so plants. Even the cherry tomatoes aren't turning red! I've pruned. I've pinched off suckers. I've picked off the horn worms. And I have no tomatoes. I'm already annoyed enough about not getting green beans (again, with the ground squirrel eating ALL of the flowers off them) but if I can't get tomatoes again this year I am seriously considering calling it a day and just getting a CSA share next year and saving my time, money, and labor.
