Maybe a smaller flock, Opa - enough to keep you in eggs.

The Boss doesn't like that I'm such an enabler to her wife.I should have some baby goats this spring for you, and rabbits...no guineas though...for planning purposes, oh and -edit- some piglets to round things up...
KuneKunePiggies! What kind? Mary
More time to fish. The other day a young lady at FF&H asked me if I needed help load bags of feed in my vehicle. I said "when I need help loading things in my truck is the day I stop farming". Maybe a few chicks? Just a few?Got an email that chick days are soon coming to TSC. I guess decision making time will soon be on me. My remaining flock is getting quite old and should have been replaced last year, but I'm not sure if I want to go through all the hassle of brooding chicks and then feeding them all summer while waiting for them to start to lay. In fact I am seriously considering getting rid of everything. I just don't seem to have the enthusiasm for the birds I once had.
Having to deal with the issues relating to age for Granny, my old farmer friend, and now me, has me re-evaluating how I spend my time.

I like them. Still a handful even with their smaller size. I had to separate the gilts from the boar last fall. The gilts are in the barn and the boar in the only pen I have. Have to start another house and pen pretty soon to get the girls outside again. If the gilts become sows I may have to let the boar go. He's a big baby but you know the drill.Hey John, How do you like your kunekune?
