We have 72 in our cabinet 'bator. Iowa Blues, Chanteclers, EE's and Bielefelders..keeping our fingers crossed that most are fertile

Brett managed to add a couple of leghorn pullets and he got 2 RIR's that he THINKS are pullets from straight run bin at FFH.

We acquired a CL Boy so will be offering Sapphires in the future :) They all will be in our "laying" coop.

What is a 'Sapphire'?

Putting a couple dozen from my coop in the bator this evening.
Some maybe OE from Wellie over blue laying EE and some backcross of that same cross.

Buff Orp and RIR at my local TSC, Buff Orp, Black Australorp, SLW, GLW, EE and Barred Rock at local FFH.

Just where in SE Michigan are you? Only a few places around here have both a TSC and a FFH in the same town. Adrian off the top of my head.

Sapphires are CCL over WL. Supposed to get the blue shell color with the leghorn productivity. They are also called sbel or super blue egg layers. I'm working on getting my coop set up for these also. Considering trying to find an ameraucana cockerel tho for the pea comb. I much prefer the smaller combs. We haven't had much of an issue with frostbite tho.

Dh got out of work early today so we both went and voted and then drove the almost hour down to the ffh in manistee for chicks. Still no chicks at 2 of the 3 more local tsc's. Picked out 2 BJGs (ds wanted black chickens) and 4 white leghorns. All I need now are a few BRs and some wyandottes.

Typing from my phone makes me lazy. Hahahaha. I did manage to talk my darling husband into helping get the sheeting started on the greenhouse. One more piece to cap the top and installing the door and the window and I will be ready to grow all the things.

Holland FFH is out of buff orps and RIRs now, but they did get in some cute white leghorn and silver and golden laced Wyandotte pullets. The silvers were pretty tempting. My son has been asking for another one ever since our last one got taken by a fox in May. I may have to go back. They also had assorted straight run ducklings
