Here's some photos of our coops/kennel runs/roofs (some are still work in progress) :

There is an angle to them, tho not as steep as a house roof peak. It does help for rain/snow run-off, as compared to flat.
They will eventually be covered with tarps on top.

I use these to fasten the 2x4x12' to the kennel panels (the 1" are a bit small & the 1&1/4 are loose for the 1&1/8 kennel tubing frame)

Ha ha! I haven't had time to be bored since April! That's when I got the lumber delivered to build my coop. Chicks arrived May 10th and was busy taking care of them while starting on the coop. Between me and my parents, the coop has been an ongoing project. Finishing has taken much longer than I thought. Never realized how time consuming and tiring stretching hardware cloth can be. Then there were the nephews' baseball games and practices, and now football! I'm about ready for some boredom! Downtime for me is reading, cross stitching, or knitting.

i thought about reading but i just finished Apollo's trials by Rick Riordan and i am now depressed because his next book comes out in MAY! i would be happy to have a project like building a chicken coop, but that will not happen for another couple weeks...you sound quite busy yourself! my younger cousin just had a soccer game and it was a tie.

I once sent an entire envelope of fallen autumn leaves to a friend in the Marine Corps stationed in the California desert. He loved them. :)
