Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Thanks everyone for understanding my excitement yesterday about my eggs. I have been consistently getting 1 brown egg a day since the 27th of October (chicks were day olds on May 10) But yesterday was the first day for two eggs on the same day and the green/blue one was such a nice surprise. I promised my nephew he could have the first green egg. :)

And I know you'll all get a laugh out of this one. My mom's oldest sister wanted to know what color the yolk would be on the green egg. :gig. But I guess on fairness to her, she is 85 so deserves some leniency. :)

It's been way to long since I've checked in. I'm just so happy that my chickenguard automatic door opener has arrived!! Now I need to figure out the best way to set it up :)

This is my first year keeping chickens for the winter. Is it pretty normal that my Easter egger shave stopped laying already?

Quote: My pullets all EE's some hatchery, some crossed with Wellie and hatched here, are mostly laying...some ahven't started yet I don't think.\.
18 month old birds are mostly molting...but a few are still laying.

It almost looks like my one might be molting but it's only about 8 months old. Is that possible? I'm not sure if it's that or if she's getting picked on, she seems low in the pecking order

It is possible for younger birds to have a full or partial molt before one year.
Do you free range...checked vent and pelvic points??
