Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

It looks familiar because you've seen it on another thread where I was asking for suggestions on how to get my birds to roost.
I've tried moving it a bit more off the wall, I've tried turning it on an angle, I even moved it to the middle of the floor , nothing worked! As suggested I even tried to set them on the roost one by one, after dark, that didn't work either so I just gave up!
They will roost when they are ready, and not a day sooner.

So I want to round up the turkeys; cage them; and move them up North tomorrow. I don't think that the 3 of them will fit in one cage. Tom is as big as my golden retriever.

In the mornings I've been coming over to the farm and finding my little BSL's up on the roosts hanging out a bit. But tonight, I came over just around sundown and they were all piled up in the dog house in their coop. guessing that they're waking up in the mornings to do that I guess. Kinda thinking about putting a saw horse in their coop for them and maybe the other one in the main coop. one of my girls from last year has been trying to sleep in the nest box lately and I'm thinking that it might be because she's been molting and is just having trouble in getting up onto the roosts from some of the step roosts I have in there. That and I'm kinda thinking about putting the little ones in with the big girls soon. They are about 6 weeks old and they've been interacting with the big girls for a while.

FOWLFEST is Saturday at Birch Run; anyone else going? I'll be there late morning, as it's always fun to see all the birds and people, and buy stuff.
Raz, are your birds okay? Mary
Well shoot...I'll be passing there on Friday. Have a commitment for Saturday that will keep me away.
My birds are safe and secure. That possum was a young one just looking for something to eat, but I had already collected the few eggs. My birds are in heavy moult so eggs are sparse right now.

All is well here, but I'll be happier once I get the chicks to the new home.

Hi!
Just stumbled upon this thread. I am new to chickens and new to BYC. We just bought a farm this summer - hobby variety, not a working farm. Looking to start my flock and am looking local for Gold Laced Wyandottes - 6 pullets/hens. Can anyone point me to a source instate?

Thanks!
(we live in Boyne)

Welcome to the flock Boyne! I'm about 45 min south of you but have plenty of family in that area. Good luck putting your flock together if you have any questions everyone here is very helpful.
