I met with contractor #4.
Actually got a written estimate from him. Also got a list of materials that he will need. I can get that stuff where I work. Saves me a little money.
Next week he will be here. Says he will call if anything changes.
He also showed me what I had to do to make sure the garage is up to code. I knew some of the mistakes I made and will correct them. I had to take some shortcuts to get the walls up.

Of course. Can't build something that big and not have it noticed by someone. Even back in the woods.
The township people love me. At least they like me better than the people who lived here before. Bad, bad people here before me. This place was known as the shoot-em-up house. Neighbors are glad that I'm here. Or so they tell me when they aren't helping.

So the contractor who has been ducking my calls called today and wants to start on Monday. I don't think so. It's obvious that he cant't be relied on or even trusted.
I'm going to count on the guy who returned my call and offered constructive criticism (no pun intended). Heck, he even liked my scrap wood chicken coop.

I worked today so nothing got done around here. Animals taken care of was about it. Priority One on my to-do list.

Sounds like a good plan.
I'm waiting for an excavator to come and widen my driveway down by the road to make it safer to plow-the deep ditch scares me when I'm on the tractor. He's also going to fill in a hollow area near the house to use for parking. Waiting for 6 weeks so far...
