Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Good for you, Rachel. If they are too much work you lose your enjoyment.

Just as we were getting ready to unload the snowmobiles, it rained for a day and a half and most of our snow is gone, although it is still cold and grey. So if it is going to be cold and ugly out, it would be nice to be able to go for a snowmobile ride.

snowmobiles
Ahhhhh, that's why you want more snow!!
I used to DH and XC ski.... used a snowmobile to 'groom' my trails...so I get the wanting more snow. I miss playing in the snow, but don't miss snow now that I can't play in it.
Also don't miss being bummed that there's not enough snow to play....the 'good snow' season was always too short down here.
Now I gripe about heavy snow on warm ground, having to clear it...and if it's gonna be cold and snowy...let it get cold and stay there!

I'm with the "White Ground" group. And I vote.
We didn't get any snow to speak of. Didn't even need to sweep the porch except for the leaves. Certainly not enough to shovel or plow. There is enough warmth left in the ground that I have standing puddles of water for a steady supply of muddy paw tracks on the floor. I'm going to save the floor sweepings in a bucket just to see how much dirt gets tracked in to the house.

Never too old to play in the snow!!! We got 7 1/2 in here. My 9 yr old neighbor came over and invited me to go sledding on his hill. We had a blast! I like winter more than summer. I can take off layers if I get too hot outside in the winter. You can only take off so much in the summer. Last summer was sooo hot and uncomfortable. Wish we had a fall, tho. Didn't have that mild warm weather. Just lots of rain.

hey gang, hope you all had a great Thanks giving! Mine was a bit subdued.. the first without my dad, and the last in the family home.

I took a week and 1/2 off work for deer hunting. Got a nice doe on the 16th. Saw some nice bucks, but didn't get a chance at them. It is quite possible, the last time I'll be able to hunt at my parents farm so I wanted to spend some time there. I started hunting in '79, I started hunting out of a particular tree, in '97, and this year made 39 years. I decided to leave my mark on that tree... I was so spoiled in it.

Back to work now and playing catch up!

Thanks for the update on Sam, I tried to reach out to him on FB but no response. If you talk to him again, please tell him I said hello.

I finally got all my chores done except for replacing the flooring in the coop. I'll have to deal with it through winter and replace the vinyl in the spring when I can get the floor dried (wood). Now on to the inside stuff.

I agree if it has to be cold, I want snow on the ground. But the truth of it is, I don't like winter and I can't wait to move south to minimize my exposure to it!

Gorgeous carving @SillyChicken!

Tractor wrassling today(mow to throw) in the thankfully large and dry garage.
This procrastinator has to clear the driveway today, almost out of dog food.
A few more fluffy inches yesterday and last night, but still wet at ground level.

Tractor wrassling. That really made me laugh. :lau

I put the push blade on the UTV the other day. I thought is was going to be a big hassle but it went on in a snap. I did change the winch line rigging yesterday to a better secure point.
The tractor is a breeze to change implements both front and back. Good engineering wins every time.
Now if it would only snow! :barnie

I'm off to a slow start today. but I need to get some garage and coop chores going on.

Glad you got your deer, Silly.
