Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Probably should get on Mom about having her septic cleaned out and inspected sometime in the near future. I don't think that its ever been done. I know Dad put in a huge leachfield when we put it in, and downhill a bit away from the house, but sooner or later the septic tank should be cleaned out right??
YES!!! always needs the honey wagon to come and clean it out. Solids will sink to the bottom of the tank while liquids flow over it...eventually you will have black gold leaking up and out of the drain field if not pumped and cleaned...Double yuk!:sick:sick

I have a couple of old garlic plants growing out there, will have to pull one up and see.
Not today tho, got a hole to fill before the rain comes tonight.
I did get an answer on what type of plants these are and they are garlic, they just have not been cultivated in a while. I was told to separate them out and they should make bulbs this year or next. Hopefully the hole was filled back in, the rain didn't start for us until after dark last night.

Will be curious to see if they do from heads with multiple cloves this year.
I may do the same with the few I have out there.
Last fall was the first time in many(12-13?) years I didn't plant garlic.

I have a question for anyone who might be able to answer or take a goood guess on that these are.
I dug these up out of a garden area yesterday. The owner passed away so I can’t ask him. They look a lot like a green onion but have flat leaves, they clump and spread, they smell and taste like garlic. Looking on the net has not been much help. We thought regular garlic at first but the clumping and spreading rules that out, someone thought leeks? Could it be wild garlic?View attachment 2099164View attachment 2099165
I got some of that yrs ago from a friend she called it garlic grass, if you let it go it may get a head like a twisted goose neck. look up" walking garlic" very tasty on salads!

I talked to Dr. Fulton about my deceased hen, and he thought it more likely that she had some other primary illness, and then was neurological secondary to that. I didn't post her (too upset!) so I'd actually be happier with his best guess than mine.
And, she wasn't the hen who attacks when she's in a nest box! :he That was my only positive thought about the whole thing, and that hen is still here, trying to hurt me when I'm gathering eggs.
