Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

welcome back Dream, love the blanket. always thought the naked necks were so cute. Someone here had some along time ago, Think it might have been Silly, I put the pink fluff in my coop, ended up pulling it all out, mice thought it was a great place to nest. I like the look of that stuff like bubble wrap. We also covered the insulation with thin plywood,

the one piece waterer works very well and the water keeps kind of clean, I have also used a heated dog dish, also works well
The coop looks nice. a good size, and you don't really need a clean out door if you can walk in, which I think is best. it is easy to go in and clean out I put a wheelbarrow outside the door and shovel into it. depending on how you make your roost, if you have roos-boards underneath it is easy to clean out and the floor stays cleaner longer

@Dreamzchaser, Sheets of plywood (and other building materials) are 4x8 feet. If you keep your measurements in multiples of 4 (4, 8,12,16), then you will need to make fewer cuts. You also end up with more useable leftover pieces.

So going from 10 to 8 feet will help you to use your building materials more efficiently. And since they've gotten waaay more expensive, that is a good thing!

One side will be towards the house and I do not like the idea of pouring more water into the edge of the house foundation. Then leaves me the other side, right inside the run. The girls will have to learn henwheeling in the mud.
Can you put a gutter on the low side of the roof to carry the rain away?

That would be good.
See pics on my coop page.
Nice set up. I had a few pointers from there that I can make sure I am covering on mine. However, I am in love with the nesting boxes. The round entrance is like for royalty hens! Would it be ok if I kind of copy off of it? I like the idea of being inside an just an opening from the outside just for lazy days.
