Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hi everyone! Hope the day was good for all of you. Had a very busy day. Took X to get his covid first shot, got my lumber, X began with the shed and the foundation was finished last weekend or so. I marked the place of the coop and surprised that I cannot tell where is north for real. Had to get on my truck and turn it everywhere in the driveway to find out which was was what. I had a rough time in the Army reading a compass, 😟 They told me that I had to learn. I answered the best possible answer; I am up in a helicopter, do you think if we go down I will worry about reading a compass? nope, I will be praying all the way down to earth. I need to get me a compass now.
Anyways, besides all the crazy stuff of the day, I was able to get a picture of my new parrot. Yeap! Phoebe thinks she is a parrot. As soon as I open the cover to bring them food or treats, she flies up to the edge and up to my shoulder. Her wings are so gigantic! So I had my cell in the kitchen but she got stuck on my hair. I grabbed the opportunity to go to the kitchen and grab the cell. I had to prove the story of people would think I am making it up. Just do not laugh at me because I had just had a bird stuck on my hair. No, and no poop on me at all. She has been very nice about that so far.

$4000 for just a softener?!? I needed to replace my softener last spring, $1300. The place that did it suggested I get an iron filter as well, as my water has a lot (A LOT) of iron in it. That was another $1600, so $2900 for the both of them. Canfield Plumbing 616-897-0887.

They're in Lowell, MI, and I don't know if they'd come up to where you are, but I highly recommend them. Put it this way... I'm not calling any one else for plumbing.

Oh, and it was worth EVERY penny. I'm very pleased.

You can get a filter for your kitchen sink for drinking water. Or one of those Brita jugs that you fill up and put in the fridge.
Thank you for this Sally. I had Rain Soft because it was one of those tests from Home Depot. My water came too high in Sulfur and Iron like two thirds of the limit for drinking. the 4k was for something that will rid of both.
But I will contact them and see if they do this way. Trust me, I scrub toilets and shower and tub and still leaves the marks. My hair turned orange and had to change to a 14 buck a bottle of shampoo. My curls are almost gone and have only been here 4 months. I straighten my hair in the winter but in the summer, I like to leave my curls natural.
The filters will remove part of the iron but not the sulfur. which is what makes it stink like pee water.

Sigh...maybe next year.
I can only handle integrating one new age group each year.

Same here. Tho do still have a few CCL, but wanted a 'better blue'.

Most of mine are....been crossing and hatching for Olives for a few years.
I cannot hatch nor cross for I am not allowed to have a rooster but would love to have a green egg laying hen.
