If every one sends an E-mail the board may understand it is not just a few" trouble makers" making noise. This is a serious matter, and I am surprised more farmers are not up in arms.
Agricultural areas are very close to residential areas,even more so with urban sprawl.

There is no heater

Chickies have evolved
Were we involved?

We tend to make reason
Why add heat --- tis not resolved

Dry and draft free
Is how the coop should be

Hens can handle the clime
Ventilation is the key

Good morning all
well the weather man hit it on the head ,we have snow,nice HEAVY WET SNOW. to test all our runs and see if we made or tops, strong enough to hold it. The first snow of the year always seems to be heavy and wet. ( I know it isn't the first snow but the first accumulation we have had here.

Hens have all that room, just a little snow in the run, They will not come out from under the covered inner run, May have to give them some vit. D due to lack of sun

We are just now starting to get a little snow. Nothing overnight to speak of really. I need to get to homedepot and grab some plastic sheeting and a few 1x2s to use as batten strips to hold it in place so the chicks have a space to go into during the winter. DH thinks we should just keep them cooped, but I think that by Feb when all those boys start hitting puberty that having room to run around a bit will be a necessity. I'd rather sheet it now than in Feb when it'll be 2deg out.
