There are several puff balls cropped up in one of my fields.

Every fall I have Shaggy Mane mushrooms that sprout all over my yard. They are edible, but I'm not comfortable eating wild mushrooms, as one bite of the wrong one can kill you dead. Same goes for Fugu.

The only kind I'm confident about are morels. Not a big mushroom fan anyway.

I can identify morels, and they are the only ones I eat from outside. I'm happy buying shitake and portabellas at the store!

I cultivated some shiitake about 20 years ago.
Logs produced for a few years,mostly forced by soaking.

Yeah, I've seen a LOT of mushrooms around these past couple weeks. I wish we could have had some of this rain when we needed it last summer. Sigh.

I need more coffee...
