Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Quoting a post is the best method to respond to someone's question. When some one quotes me and asks a question I sometimes spot words I have misspelled and I go back to my original post and correct them. That does fix the original post but the quote documents my stupidity forever.

If you think typing is bad, try voice commands. My boyfriend was trying to send a text message to some friends to let them know we were on the way, and it came out "we are tied to the bed" . No, he didn't send it.

Welcome, Welcome, sounds like a nice selection. don't forget to vaccinate your birds, McMurry does it cheap. an ounce of prevention could save you a lot of trouble down the road
also some one used sand in their brooder much less dust and you have not seen dust till you have had chicks in the house. and you will have if they are coming in January.
I got my first chicks from McMurry and was very happy with them, still have most of them almost 6yrs latter

come to chicken stock in the spring (June) lots of fun and lots of super nice people!!
I am trying a different water heater in my small coop this year. Took a heated dog water bowl and filled it with fine gravel, then put a plastic waterer on top of the gravel. I am not sure how well it will work when the weather gets truly cold, but so far so good.
cookie tin works well as does the heated waterer

Have a great day all, love the pics and advice
