Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

My new glasses finally came in today. It was 27 years ago that I last wore glasses. About 12-15 years ago that I started using reading glasses.
These new spectacles are bifocals. The progressive kind that has no line in the middle of the lens.
I feel like I'm tripping or drunk. This is going to take some getting used to. They want me to give it a week to adjust to them.
I think I'm going to trigger an acid flashback just by tilting my head.
😵‍💫

@RaZ That is normaik with bifocals whether is a line or not. It does take making aware that look down to read and straight to walk.

@chiken fairy I agree to some degree. Florida never made me take a class. We all are trained for hour and days on how to disassemble, assemble, clean, shoot in various scenarios including urban warfare. I don't have one now so not carrying. I let my FL expire. But I do need to get it done because of my wonderful neighbor.
Well, barely sleeping with throwing up constantly. Finished processing the last of the tomatoes. Canned 21 quarts.
Dilemma with the girls. The speckled sussexes not a problem. One is Sussex and the other one speckle. But the brown leghorns, one is Leggy but cannot name the other one,lol Maybe Mrs Mary can help, lol
They are all ok and getting along better but at night the Bingo girls, old ones, take the whole area and the newbies have to stay in the small roost and some get pooped on. Then Itty-bitty does not want to come into the coop. He gets on a pallet and sleeps out in the run. I gave up getting him inside. It will get cold soon and he will want to go in.

Last swap-n-meet I did fairly well. Have the pumpkin and art festival next on the 14th. So doing as much as I can.
Love you all! @ SallyPB miss you!

Yeppers!
May take more than a week.
The first ones I had the doc told me you are going to hate these things,
but give it time and remember to point your nose at what you want in focus.
Biggest bummer about them, and failing eyesight in general, is the loss of peripheral vision/focus....hard to scope the babes!

My memory of first getting progressives was that the floor seemed to be a loooong way down. I got my first pair around 43...?

I held out on readers :lau until I was 60.

Stop it with your 43! I'm 40 next year, I'm way too young to be in that range!!

@razI remember when my dad got them if was rough, took a long time to adjust, but he loves them now! He's an avid reader, and it hasn't hindered him. I hope the week goes smoothly for you.

I just got contacts again. I guess I'll be enjoying them while I can!

The optometrist told me that my eyes "were right on schedule."
Mine told me "It's a good thing you didn't have this test at the DMV".
I was in my early 40's.
I'd been using readers for 8-10 years before that for close up stuff,
then started having real trouble reading the smaller street signs.

I had to take them off. I read everything put in front of me. Reading these replies started to give me a headache. If I can choose between far vision or reading, I'll take reading every time.
Additionally, now that I can see things much better, I find that I have a bunch of ugly chickens. Very. Ugly. Chickens,
