Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

@aart , I agree completely, and haven't yet posted about it. That structure is tiny and closed in, not yet a real useful coop, at least as seen in that photo. Maybe the other side is open, and/ or the run area will be roofed and made safe, so open all the time.
Hope so!

Agreed. I mentioned it on my original reply. Those birds are going to get big and I would enclose a larger area for their outdoor space, unless you plan on free ranging them. Keep in mind in the winter, they might not want to venture out, so you need to provide something big enough for them to all hang out in.

How's the weather today for everybody? We had a nice thunderstorm late last night and it's nice and warm today, perfect for getting some more work done on the run and coop :)
The weather is awesome! Nice and warm today. I plan on winterizing the run Saturday before the rain, but I keep looking at the nighttime temps thinking I'm still jumping the gun.

Ohh, our unpredictable Michigan temps 😂 Dad and I want to winterize the run too but we're unsure when to do it too because of the weather fluctuations. They're predicting a really cold, really snowy winter but so far I'm not buying it... I should know better though, I've lived here all my life and have woken up to blizzards in May :gig

I dunno. All the wolly bully caterpillars I've seen have a lot of brown on them 😂. Temps look like their holding in the 40°s next week.
