After a couple of days pampering my Petri, she was put to rest with the rest of the girls. Leghorns at least for me, they get egg bound too often. Three years that she was my best layer and always next to me for everything. It has been a very rough day.

So sorry! So many hens die by three years of age, and it's always way too soon. RIP Petri.

Gallon milk jugs, well rinsed.

I use an old vinegar jug, been using the same one for 10+ years now.
Up to about 20 birds they drink less than a gallon a day.
I just top off the heated waterer every morning.

Very sad news to report. SimpleJenn, a BYC member who lives in the Muskegon area, lost her entire flock yesterday, most probably to HPAI. I haven't heard that a test came back positive, but all the symptoms were there.

She is a regular poster on the Fluffy Butt Acres thread. I think she's taking a very understandable break from posting while she deals with this tragedy.
