...For those that run power to their waterers in their run, how do you run your cord into the pen? Do you cut the hardware cloth? Looking for better ideas than what I have.

I don't run power to my waterers, but back when I brooded outside I did run a cord to the momma heating pad in the brooder.

Outside the hoop coop/run:

I overlapped the HWC on this portion of the apron..

Inside the hoop coop/run:

The ground wasn't level. I used a couple broken fire bricks to fill in the gap AND protect the cord from damage. Then I attached a scrap piece of HWC over the opening.

When I was no longer using the brooder I coiled the outside portion of the extension cord (coop to outlet), placed it inside a failed waterer bucket project, then cut a notch at the rim for the cord that was still underneath the apron. I put on the lid and left it. The cord is protected from the elements inside the waterer.

The apron is grown over, but I can still access the cord if I need to.

For hardware cloth, I don't see why cutting a bigger hole in it wouldn't work.

I had a bigger hole in the hardware cloth and had mice and small songbirds (dark-eyed juncos) getting in, so I ran a couple of zip ties over the hole. I'll need something more permanent next year. So, thank you for the info!

I cracked a window in the pantry and run 3 heavy duty construction 50ft extensions and covered the bottom of the window with plastic. I like the pantry cold because it helps to keep things, lol
Then 2 of them go to their run and shorter construction 3 outlet extensions and have 2 heated bowls for water, one light in case I need to turn it on if there late, and 3 wyze cameras. The other one goes into the coop through a pvc pipe and 2 short 3 prones for 3 heated plates and 2 wyze cameras. I also have a battery ring camera to watch the nesting boxes. No eggs, no need to open the coop and less cold get in. The door is also battery operated and I change the opening and closing through my phone. Still hoping for the best because everything has worked so far but after 3 yrs, something may change.

That was a harsh loss. They fought hard but it just seemed like they weren't quite in GRIT mode last night

I can't be too disappointed. They've lost so many players to injury this season, if they were up to snuff I think they would've killed it!

Next year. They've got this!

If their defensive players were all there, they would have trounced everyone. I'm sorry they didn't make it to The Big Game, but I think they will in the future. Their days of being the butt of jokes is over.

I agree, the defense was the soft spot. And they have lots of reasons why that was so. Still, so disappointing.

IF you are using extension cords, use at least 14 gauge, outdoor-rated, UL (or comparable) listed cords to reduce risk of shortage or fire.
