The view of the woods this morning-

When I had roosters, the hens seemed more stressed. Always worried about the next attack. I had one hen that was so stressed, she was always hiding and definitely not enjoying life. I swear she died from her stress. And I don't know what the rooster contributes to make the eggs taste better, besides the obvious and I don't think that has a taste....

Hope you feel better Stacy.
The poor cows look so cold. Can't you put coats on them?

Turns out I got a concussion yesterday. I was carrying a load of wood, slipped on ice, and because of the load in my arms, fell forward. Yep, facefirst into my stack of logs. One nailed me in the throat, so I feel (and look) like I got punched in the throat. And my head got hit too. Bruises everywhere. But since, I've been in a bit of a fog and have had a headache. A doctor today confirmed, and said if the headache gets worse, go to the ER.
ouch!! hope you feel better soon..

I had a large tree go down in my dog pen in this last windy day we had. If anybody lives close to Millington and needs wood, its yours but will need to be cut up to get it out. I don't know enough about trees to know what kind it is, but probably either box elder or beech.

if it's box elder its crap wood (smells like someone urinated on the wood when it burns..

. not a good burning wood) and it's too soft. So you may have a hard time getting rid of it........

Stacykins, I know what those feel like... hope you feel better soon.

Would like to have some! But my parents said no goats EVERY TIME I ask.

You could borrow some, just for clearing and send them home! They also LOVE poison ivy, wait till summertime and everything is leafed out. Approach your parents with the idea you want to lease some for clearing or allow someone to browse their goats for free (just make sure they're healthy and disease free)... and then maybe after the goats were there, they may actually change their mind and you can get your own later. At least if they say no in the end, you got your property cleared out.

Well, you have to abide by those rules for now. You have loads of critters that some of us can only dream of.
If I could, I would have dairy goats here.
See the snow on their backs? That shows how well insulated their fur are.
I have a photo of my old Golden Retriever sleeping in the yard with about 4 inches of snow on her.
