Tap, sorry that was so hard for you - but, if you could shoot a coyote at a distance, maybe you could put a .22 pellet into his head from up close? You would not even have to wear a dress. Just sayin'...

No... LOL. Sorry, that made me giggle...

I know how you feel. I think I didn't do my girl right either. But I didn't have to wait long... just a few minutes and then she finally stopped. Was very upsetting. But yeah... Maybe a 22... I mean... you can do a squirrel.. and they only wanna steal feed...

If only he was a mean rooster... Up close wont work because I'm one of those unlucky people who sees blood flow and needs to lay on the floor or falls on the floor. After three tries he's still running around. My son wants to feed him a last supper of a cheeseburger before I try again. Kid!

Aw. Last supper. I'd do the same fries and all.

Lookie at what was in the bator when I got home tonight! When I candled the eggs last week, I saw 3-4 eggs that I thought were bad. but I stuck off to the side........ serves me right for thinkin! Apparenlty these guys were a bit more advanced in developement... the weird thing is, they were all put in at the same time. I wonder if these were started by the hen sitting on them in the coop.
Glad I didn't toss em! These two are robust and healthy Faverolle chicks.

Sooo cute!!! Congrats!

I'm seriously thinking about adding some Salmon Faverolle this spring. Beautiful birds and Wingless offered me some when she hatches again. I'm not sure that I want to wait.

I have more coming than I will need Raz!

If the rest of the eggs hatch I should have another dozen.

I like a market over my way called "bird's meat market", over between sand lake and howard city; they use their own locally grown critters and they even do their own sugar cured bacon.
Love Bird's Meat Market. We try to get there a couple times a year. In fact, DH was talking about going over there the other day.
Went snowshoeing at the Wittenbach this morning with my son's class to learn about wild birds and adaptation.
Wittenbach is a really nice place. I've taken my girls and DH there just to walk the pathways. I took my girls to one of their nature tours once, too.
