I'll try to clarify...
Using a product, (i.e. pesticide) according to the directions is fine. An Emergency Plan (EP) is for what you do in case of an accidental discharge.

Ever knock over a bag of DE or have it fall of the tailgate and break open? That is an accidental discharge and what did/do you do to clean it up. Same with a jug of bleach or bottle of ACV.

There is no difference in "food grade" in case you spill it while you are eating it.

The process sounds more complicated than it really is. Most of it is common sense with a few "I did not know that" things thrown in. ( I did not know that I should keep my gas can inside another tote in case I knock it over. A $2 tote would keep that $20 worth of gas from soaking into the ground. )

Neatness is simply keeping the lids tight on feed, not setting the gas can on top of the feed can. Neatness is cleaning the poop boards on a regular schedule (suggested guideline is at least twice a year).

It is really pretty simple to be compliant and practice good animal care. I'll find out in a few days how that compliance helps in a court of law, but I do know one case where is was a deciding factor in the farmer's win.
OK ....you have to sight what happened and how you cleaned it up? why? no one would know(or care) how you cleaned up your vinegar, or DE?? very puzzled, I can understand, gas, or round up or something that would make your animals sick,

RIRJen I love lops! The babies are so cute!

Willow is adorable!

The rain today sucked, and I might not be able to let my birds free range if I'm not outside with them any more...they crossed the street for the first time today, and were in the neighbors yard...apparently they think they own the neighborhood all of the sudden when they normally stay in our yard just fine. :/ Any ideas what I can do?

Chicks are getting big.

I got some supplies for a hoop coop today to put the turkey and meat chicks (and hopefully a few more turkey's that we are going to get) in...very excited, and it cost me all of like $2.00! Woot! I also found a rocking recliner that matches my hubby's new one really well and for only $30!

I am tired...hoping I can take a nap before I have to go to the dentist.

Naglady, good luck with your hatch! I just set 13 duck egg in my homemade bator yesterday! It's my first time ever hatching so I really hope something hatches.

(ps...what are tutors?)

That's all for me for now! I hope you all have a wonderful day!

I got the supplies delivered today for our new coop, cinderblocks and a couple 2 x 8 sill pieces and mortar. I broke ground on the project a couple of days ago, digging out the old foundation so as to have a level surface to build on. Still waiting for the zoning permit though so I won't be setting the blocks until that comes in the mail, just in case. Luckily I don't need a building permit too as it's for agriculture. But there's nothing like shelling out $40 to have someone tell you that you can build where you already know you can.

Also, just finished our second hatch and we now have 5 wheaten marans, 1 coronation sussex and 5 barnyard mixes to add to the first hatch of 11 chicks. It's crazy the difference in size already! I have the brooders separated by some hardware cloth so they can see each other. The 3 1/2wk olds want to eat the newbies and the newbies want to snuggle under all those feathers on the 3 1/2 wk-olds. It's cute... in a way. I'm seeing a lot of boys in the first set of barnyard mixes but I can't tell the sex on the buff brahmas yet. It's the waiting game.
