Oh! Don't get me going on German lunch meat!! Just love it. Why can't America make meat like that? There's a German deli in where my mom lived and every time I went to visit we would go there and buy all my favorites and enough for me to bring home. I so wish they would deliver! There are some in Chicago that my son would go and get some. He forgot to bring me some last time he came for a visit. My DH did find a German deli online that I have to go and check out and see what they have. Got my mouth watering.....

That is exactly why I make a lot of our lunch meat. I've even made bologna and the taste was incredible.

Battle buddy that is funny

I already got a egg from the new hens i picked up today.. we butchered 3 of them, there was a mean rhode island red.. she was plucking tail feathers and some of the girls had bare tails. and then i picked 2 astralorps the ones with narrow pelvic bone width. wow i cant beleive how big and meaty these bird are, plus they had lots of fat to.. very nice birds. have them in the garage in a pail in brine. I put the date on the egg i found and we will see if we can hatch it when we get enough eggs..

chickflick you should see if you can find a recipe for german lunch meat online. I bet there is one out there somewhere that you would love

Naglady, if you need a Maran Roo, Krisrose has a beautiful roo that she would like to find a good home for. I believe she got him at Chickenstock last year. Was suppose to be a pullet.

where does krisrose live, I only got one maran hen out of 21.. and a roo so 22 birds in all...

Naglady- I live in Davison which is just outside of Flint. Petey Skywalker is one good lookin boy. He is a Blue Copper Splash Marans which I got at Chicken Stock last year.
In these pictures he was only a few months old. I can get new pictures of him tomorrow. I would love to find him a home . I dont hatch so no need for a roo.

Krisrose He is adorable, Your about 3 hrs from me, I have to wait and see if my maran hen even lays eggs enough to bother with a roo, she is black and white.
plus i have never hatched eggs b4, not even sure i can do it yet.. i want to try after reading and seeing all the chicks on here, do you have him on craigslist.

Here's my sick hen, poor thing. I gave her a bath to clean her up. I don't think she is egg bound, don't feel that way anyway. Her crop was big but it was in the afternoon. I kept her in the house in a dog kennel she has her head under her wing now. I don't she is going to make it.

No I dont have him on Craiglist. I just offer him here on MI thread. He has been minding his manners so in no hurry to get rid of him. I will try to get a few new pictures of Petey,he is such a pretty boy.
