Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

The market in Lowell is in the TSC parking lot as well but I've never been down there when it's open so don't know what it's like.
The Lowell farm market is great. I stop there if I'm in town when it's running. There's always a good number of people there no matter what time I stop and I never come away empty handed. You can get all sorts of fresh veggies, fruit, breads and even crafty type things. I know one of the vendors personally and he is a really nice guy. His family owns Heidi's off Cascade.

I found a fellow Southwest Michigan BYCer on Craigslist today... She only lives 15 minutes from me. It's funny how large BYC is and how small that makes our chicken world.

This is a copy and paste from facebook. I personally don't know this person

Here is Gordy, the 8 month old pig. The gal that was approved to take him lost her dad yesterday and now we are looking for a home for the little guy again. I would guess him to weigh between 30-40 pounds and seems social. He always comes out of his straw to see me when I go check on him.

His owner is being evicted on Monday. She has already been to court and the judge gave her only until Feb...ruary 18th.

Had I known that, I would have swung by. I was in A2 yesterday and today.
On the other hand, wingless said I could have some of her hatching salmon faverolles and silly made a similar offer.

Maybe I need to drive to A2 again this week.

They had Rouens, Pekins and Khaki Campbells... ;)
(By the way, getting caught up on old posts - It looks like Meyer Hatchery is out of wild Mallards for next week. If you see something else you want, go ahead and order it for pick up and I"ll bring it back for you. :)

I seem to be a dismal failure at culling birds....
Oh, Tap... That sounds awful. :(

Lookie at what was in the bator when I got home tonight! When I candled the eggs last week, I saw 3-4 eggs that I thought were bad. but I stuck off to the side........ serves me right for thinkin! Apparenlty these guys were a bit more advanced in developement... the weird thing is, they were all put in at the same time. I wonder if these were started by the hen sitting on them in the coop.
Glad I didn't toss em! These two are robust and healthy Faverolle chicks.
Awwww! So cute!
