Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hi Mutt, who is CR? I should know but don't. I got this from a blog, but I do remember some people on here that told me but if I don't write it down I forget. I forget everything these days getting a little worried about it, lol.

Goat kids are here! One boy, one girl! The girl was first, and she was malpositioned. She was coming butt first, so I had to put her back in to find her back legs. Took a little work, but she made it out fine! Her (bigger) brother followed. He was coming headfirst with one hoof forward and one back, which isn't a huge issue. Both kids and Yoko are doing great! She is SUCH a devoted mother, which is a huge relief!

My camera is in the process of downloading pictures. I took a lot, so I need to go through 'em all, hah.

Before she starting laboring hard. She needed some love!

Little girl getting cleaned up!

The boy just came, and the girl was taking her first sips of colostrum.

Such a cute face! He looks just like his father, except he has a huge white poll (the white on his head)

The white on the girl's muzzle kinda makes her look like a donkey!

Other side of the little gal.

He was all tuckered out!

Mama Yoko giving them some love!

I can't tell yet if her eyes are truly blue (like her father's) or if they will change to yellow. Sometimes their eyes can look blue when they are first born, but aren't actually blue.

Oh my goodness, they are so darn adorable! Thanks for posting photos. It was a difficult evening at work, and this made me grin. What a good mama you have there.

Maaah I ordered from her too. The ad said 2.50 for bantam saddles and free shp. When I got her to respond to emails, it suddenly jumped to 3.75 (banty) and 4.75 (bigger)plus $ 2. shp. I told her she needed to update her ad in BYC because it was very misleading to would be customers. I ordered in January hoping for delivery by Valentine's Day. It took several days to receive - sent first class mail and we were not that far apart.

I've checked for a pulse this morning and since my heart seems to be still banging away it should be another good day. Daylight savings time has made the wait for sunrise longer but I am glad to be here to welcome its arrival.

Bob, I never found the Welsummer roosters to be any more aggressive than any other breed. In fact I've never had a mean one (aggressive towards humans). He should become a calmer breeder as he ages, however, the missing feathers on a hens head usually are a result of his holding them while he breeds.
