Thanks all, Need to update my signature, because we no longer have a couple ducks, Somthing ate my male duck and left his gf all alone.

No fear though she went to a family friends house that has several ducks and huge pond. I have been given updates that she is doing great and very happy so that is good. The countdown is on, next week my new girls will arrive and I will post lots of pics

Yeah, he was becoming more and more aggressive to the rest of my family. Couldn't have that, just because he was good to me... A couple of months ago I asked my oldest son, who loves to tend the chickens but was afraid of Fritter, if he minded if I got rid of him one day and he was fine with it. So today was the day. It wasn't awful, just strange, like I said.

I missed the chicken dish name episode so not part of that in-joke but my chickens names are mostly egg dishes, Souffle, Frittata, Scrambles, Custard, Benedict, Flan, Quiche, etc. I thought I was being clever. My husband wanted to name the sheep like this as well but with lamb dishes. I put my foot down.

I think his top picks were Kebob, Gyros and Stew or Curry, can't remember which of the latter two. I liked Rogan Josh which is lamb curry but still, I couldn't do it.

Broaster, Broiler, Baked, Crispy, Extra Crispy, Gravy, Nugget, Lemon and Pepper. Remember that? Remember chicken groping? That all seems like such a long time ago.

Early morning folks!

Just popping in to say hi. I see there's a lot of names I don't recognize, awesome. No babies yet, they are still baking. I sleep most of the day now. The twins are due any day now ... So exciting/exhausting.

My chickens finally started laying again and they are going strong! I love it! They took a long break in the fall and I was a little worried but they are back in business.

Nigellas does your chick smell.. Sour? Yogurt should help. Empty the crop first.

Good morning all! Hoping today is nice enough that my DDs and I can go out and clean up the "poop carpet" (lol...as some one posted earlier). I love my dogs, but I always hate looking at the yard after the snow melts and seeing what's been left behind....good thing I have two daughters to put to work ;0).

My chickens have been so happy to be able to go out in the yard the last couple of days....maybe they'll start rewarding me with more than 2-3 eggs (I have 12 hens!).
