Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

We got another peacock the other night..... beautiful black shoulder male w/tail intact! might be hard to part with him!! I'll try to get a pict tonight.
We put up fencing for the baby goat to put him outside friday, and he promptly crawled up and through a larger hole in the fence. Smart bugger! So we had to go and buy fence w/smaller holes to put around it! LOL! I haven't the heart to put him out all night. I worry about predators though he'll be closed up in the dog house, it's not that secure yet.. plus it's cold. ....and I'm not ready to cut the apron strings yet, there I said it! LOL!
Hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed the holiday if you celebrate it or not, it's still nice to be with family. Especially since my DSis and her family is moving up north in 2 weeks.
We have to get moving on putting our hive together, May will be here soon enough - along with our bees!!!

I see you lurking, Juise.

Uh ohs, caught! lol

Oooh, boy. I knew I shouldn't check in on you guys in the Spring. I haven't been in to TSC, or seen any chickies, and I was totally not getting broody.

I do not need chicks. I do not need chicks. I do not need chicks.

When is CS?

What are you all planters planting right now?

And who has a chainsaw and works for free? ^_^;

I heard that sand was good to use you can rake it to get the poop out. I am going to put it in all my coops that way I can clean them everyday. I seen it on The Chicken Chick blog I think thats were I read it, she made a big litter box scoop out of a pitchfork she attached hardwarecloth to it.

I tried sand with the chicks this year, and it can be very dusty. So keep that in mind. It was great other wise, but it will be picked up in the poops so when you clean them out, you will slowly lose the sand with it.

I use paper for about the first 3-4 days, then use the premium fine wood shavings (don't use cedar chips, the oil in the cedar is not that good for them).

Great idea for the super sized scooper! LOL!
