Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

When is CS?

What are you all planters planting right now?

And who has a chainsaw and works for free? ^_^;
June 22nd, third Saturday at the same place as last year.

Too early to plant outside, but have strawberry, grape and garlic ready to go when it gets nicer. Also thinking of a peach tree if I can find the one I want.

Have chainsaws, log splitter and more. I work cheap but not for FREE!

Sawdust is too dusty and bad for the chicks' respiratory tracts. I use pine shavings mixed with some pelleted pine horse bedding, cuts down the smell and dust both. Chicks need supplemental heat until they are fully feathered out (6 weeks or older) and acclimated to colder temps.

Hi everybody, just had to share a funny story. I gave my 4 wk old chicks some hardboiled egg yesterday then this afternoon after work when I checked on them, they all came up to my hand , pecked once then turned around and ignored me cause my hand was empty. Talk about getting spoiled quick!

oh HIIIIII!! ya, i got them from tractor supply. everytime i go in there they have more and more and I have to control myself. lol. how about u?

I need to take a road trip and go see what they have.. alpena right..

I heard that sand was good to use you can rake it to get the poop out. I am going to put it in all my coops that way I can clean them everyday. I seen it on The Chicken Chick blog I think thats were I read it, she made a big litter box scoop out of a pitchfork she attached hardwarecloth to it.

good idea on the scoop..
