If I go to Family Farm and Home, will I be able to find Vetericyn on the shelves? Which section/animal area?
I saw some at the Plainfield Ave store a few days ago, not sure where you shop? It was around $25-$27 if memory serves correctly. It was on the other side of where the syringes and stuff are, in the next aisle over.

I have been getting SOOOO ticked off at my cherry tomato plant that is under a foot tall, despite my cutting off all the lower branches to promote upward growth. I looked more closely at the card today and it says Height: 9". Geez! The thing looks ridiculous with branches sprawling out several feet and only 9 or so inches off the ground. I wonder if it is too late to find another plant?
I've seen several tomato plants still for sale at several places.
On the other hand, I have a few plants that are pretty small but flowering nicely. A few of the tall one ones are doing well but only have a few fruits. A couple are about the size of a tennis ball while the cherry and grape tomatoes seem to be developing rather slowly, but they ARE developing.

Same with my peppers. The smallest plant has the most fruits. But the one I'm most interested in is one called "devil's tongue" which has just begun to produce blossoms.

I guess it is like waiting for that first egg from a pullet...

One is for the butterfly garden in the front yard. It cites ordinance 94.14 STREET OPENINGS. The other is a second ticket for "poultry" which I think is just a second ticket for the original charge. Double jeopardy anyone? To be fair, I was ordered to comply with ALL ORDINANCES of the city. On the other hand, no time frame was given or specific directions to actually get rid of the chickens. No idea on the third ticket. Unless getting a ticket is grounds for getting a ticket...

Oh for Pete 's sake. Like ANYONE could possibly know every one of there city ords. For the majority of things I do at my house I don't go & look up the ords. Wouldn't surprise me with these yahoos if getting a ticket WAS the 3rd!

I miss not gardening. I didn't plant a single thing this year to eat. I was so discouraged last year by the constant thefts of my produce. I was hoping to be able to get enough land in the back cleared for the 6-8 hours sun, and buy the soil and wood to make a raised garden, as there are so many tree roots, rototilling is not an option... But one thing has led to another, and I couldn't even afford to buy english import orps eggs from Renie...

I am thinking however that instead of ground planting next year, I might try my hand at strawbale gardening back there. Just need to keep our resident buck away from them. Yes, resident buck. We have a buck that comes right in the yard, will come with in 30 feet and eat no problem. We don't make any sudden moves and it keeps an eye on us. Such a pretty boy. Hope to get a pic of him this year. Last year I missed the perfect pic when he and Mr. Fluffers were nose to beak. That was an awesome moment.

Juise, I work Tuesdays and Thursdays, but otherwise, I am open the other three. As for the trees and undergrowth... I know you have more trees than I, but sheesh, I am not afraid of trees. LOL. My boys aren't either. BUT, I will gladly stand by with a pitcher of dousing liquid. LOL

Juise,
Can you use the trees and undergrowth for the fencing? You can use rope or zip ties to secure it.

Nova,
Do you have a lawn tractor? And a garage? A tow-able bed might be a way to have a garden and keep it secure from deer and people.
