Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

LOL, my mother related a GF story. GF was first gen in America from Germany. She never forget one time they were walking in a field with cows when my GF grabbed her, pointed on the ground and said with his german accent, "Watch out for the koo shyst!" She got to learn what "sh*t" was in german language that day...

I am cracking up! I couldn't get away with "shyst" as my grandmother spoke German (along with my great gma & the cleaning lady), so mom DEFINITELY knew what THAT one meant!!

That's actually a really great poo reference. Gross, but great. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, it is kinda gross, but i found it pretty informative, too

If I recall, the post that I got it from had a disclaimer/warning like "graphic: not for the squeamish, gross, etc. " before the link.

Hmmm, guess I forgot the warning

Anyone want "Uggo" the uggo roo? No pushing or shoving... first come, first gives! He needs to go to an only roo home since he's dubbed himself king roo here. He's not people aggressive, but it's time for him to go! Freezer camp will be open for it's next session in about a month! He's very handsome in an uggo sort of way. I'll try to get some new picts of him up tonight.

Anybody know of a place currently selling seed potatoes? Looking for fermentation crocks too. Ideas? I don't want them shipped - too expensive. The local hardware store is supposed to be calling me back today about ordering some but we'll see.

Naglady, you will be happy with the Delawares, I'm sure. I really liked the ones I had. They are very people friendly.

Two Tone is a handsome fella!

DH and I went to a local blueberry farm this morning and picked 32 lbs of blueberries. Last week I picked 18 lbs by myself. I used up most of the 18 lbs making spiced blueberry peach jam and blueberry syrup.

Oh, and if anyone heard a scream in west Mi at 5pm yesterday, it would have been me. I nearly stepped on a very big snake!

Blueberry jam.... mmmmm.... Wanna take my boys to the one here in Holland on James Street. They've got blueberry donuts... Not sure I can handle them though. Had another blasted gall bladded attack last night. Ugh. I think I scared the crap out of John. LOL SO, there was a silver lining to that. HEHE

Anyway...I have a new broody duo... Hawkarella and Ekta... Hawk is new to the brooding thing. LOL Ekta hasn't quit, but she sure does eat, so her weight is staying good.

Yes, that is a full size hen on top of a serema hen. The last time, it was a bantam cochin (Skeeter) with Ekta under her.

And my pin cushion... AKA raccoon attack victim. It's been 4 weeks today. The places where it is just pink skin is where all new skin grew. It is starting to look less like tissue paper and more like chicken skin. Her muffs and beard are still messed up... She's come along really well. She's now also picked on too, those birds out in the back think her pins are for there personal amusement and try and peck her. She's hangs out in the garage. Here damaged wing sits lower now too, but she's able to use it quite well to get up on the roost and shelves the chickens like in the garage.

Nova, great job with recup after coon attack! I had one mangle a hen and a rooster earlier this year. Luckily the dog was there and killed it! My boss sewed them up and with lots of TLC they are happy ever after. I guess im lucky to work for the ONLY vet in the area that sees chicks...

hh I do love the delawares, i had one already now i have 4, and they are so docile.

nova sorry about your gb attack.. hope your feeling better today..
and glad your chicken is on amend..she is looking good your a good mommy
