Picked up some flowers from a local farmer. I'm my opinion more beautiful than anything you could buy in a store. And got sweet corn too, but that's not really picture worthy. I love getting stuff locally. I'd love to buy 100% locally if I could.

Funny!!
Hi fellow Michiganders! Are there any crazy goose people out there who would like a 2 month old Embden (Embden mix?) goose? Free to good home! A companion for your lonely single goose? Oberon (Shakespeare, not Bell's) is diaper-trained and very well-behaved, and I am very attached, but I never planned to have a pet goose, and really don't have the time or a good set-up for him (her?). I've posted on a couple of other threads, but didn't realize there was a Michigan thread (new to website) so all the offers have been out of state, and considerably far away. If I had the time or a house with a yard, I'd keep him in a second (and get him a companion! I guess I'm a convert), but I don't, and I really want what's best for him. He's friendly and likes meeting new people (including well-behaved children) and travels well. I'd love to find him a new home fairly close to me so I could help him make the transition and occasionally visit.
Beautiful! I did not plant a garden this year, instead I have been going to a local farm stand, Magicland, and getting fresh produce. Today I got red potatoes, muskmelon, sun sugar tomatoes, slicing tomatoes, a green tomato, pickles and a bushel of day old corn. I think I spent $30 for all of that. I had the green tomato for lunch

Great question...actually the big door on the back opens and for total cleanout the bottom detaches and we can just lift up that end of the coop....odd, but true! My ultimate goal in building it was that the guineas would free range and this would be my grow-out coop....of course, that was before the guineas became DH's pampered babies...![]()
