...or at least that's what I heard.

And now we see a true description of friendship among people on this forum. A dichotomy of prevention and enabling.

Eggs and incubator are due tomorrow. Started pullets are not due until the end of September.

Raz, I don't know if you've broken it down for us (not that you owe us that). Are you thinking now that you're certified, you have the protection of the state Right to Farm to use in an appeal and moving forward with a new future flock?

I have not broken it down for anyone at this point, other than what I have posted in my blog (siggy below). New events are unfolding each week. This week just happens to be an opportunity to incubate and hatch out some chicks. All of that is perfectly legal within the city ordinances.

I still have a court hearing next week to address several charges that the ordinance nazi has leveled. The charges are fabrications based on the fact that I appealed my case several weeks (months) ago. Much of which has been shared here on BYC. The actual appeal has been pushed out to October in order to allow the city to mount a defense of why they allowed the court to ignore the state law.

Given the timing, I am going to hatch out some eggs. By the time they hatch, my probation will be over. Then I am willing to start a whole new process of exercising the Right to Farm Act. Even though I was "protected" in the original case. (Please note that the judge dis-allowed the RTFA during the trial. Thus the appeal.)

Bottom line is that I will have a new flock here.

If I were on your side of the state, I'd gladly help. BUT I wouldn't want beer. I'd work for honey. LOL Actually, I'd trade my help for yours... My lawn mower... LOL

I had a friend from work pass away Tuesday. He got so ill, to the point of not being able to even hold water. He waited two days before going to the hospital, at which time he was so dehydrated that he had renal and liver failure. Went for emergency liver transplant, but the damage was already done and he did not make it. 48 yr old man, in the prime of his life, with wife and kids heading off to college... He was what you would call a pretty fit guy, so this is pretty shocking.

SO, please people... if your loved one is throwing up for more than 12 hours, can not even hold water, go to the ER right away, don't wait, hoping it'll pass...

Since everyone is being so friendly, how about some friends come over and help me finish the wood stacking and garage siding?

Sadly, you are out of range, I only have 2 weeks to finish remodelibg my house before we have to schedule an appraisal, and I seldom have 2 days off work in a row. I would love to deliver a couple of really LOUD crowers directly beneath your neighbors window. Lol. I am too chicken to do any such thing, but it sure is fun to think about. On the chicken front: I have just 3 chicks left inthe brooder. Another 1-2 weeks will see them outside. My other 2 free rangers have gone broody. 1 is due to hatch her eggs any day. The other will be another 2 weeks yet. And, if I thought I was done with indoor chicks? Not so much. I have 10 eggs due any day, at least 5 that I have to candle to make sure they aren't quitters, and at least another 10 due within the next 14-18 days. Apparently, I am crazy, and just don't know when to stop.... or my free rangers dpn't know how to lay INfertile eggs. Lol.

Another month is nearing completion and summer will soon be over. Isn't it amazing just how quickly the days of summer pass us by? As soon as I've finished exercising my meager brain with some crossword puzzles I've got to shuck some sweet corn and get it blanched and in the freezer. I'm sure that later this winter I willl enjoy the fruits of today's labor.

Before we know it winter will once again be here but in the spirit of always trying to see the bright side of each day, the cooler weather will trigger the spawning cycle of salmon and steelhead trout. Hopefully I will be able to get some serious fishing time in.
