Thought I would let you know, Mocha is riding out the storm well. So far, so good. This warning passed without a tornado hitting us. Roo went into the garage to keep Mocha company.

Keep a watchful eye. This storm is headed your way, and it is strong.

Aw, thanks for the update. That's cute Roo went in with Mocha. Hopefully the worst of the storm missed you and Mocha will keep on being good!

The flock seems, calm after Mocha left. Mocha wasn't mean but two roosters to three hens probably stressed everyone out.

My one n only rooster- Lil Roo, let me hold him today. He has just started crowing and has gotten so big. He is very friendly and protective of his girls. I don't know much about him, a lady had all RIR's for selling eggs and didn't want the roosters, so I picked this lil guy out and he has turned out to be wonderful. He really fancies one of my EE's instead of the other RIR's. Surprised the wind didn't blow him out of my hands.

DH and I managed to finish the roof with a minute to spare (the thunder was getting pretty close when we pulled the last roof jack out of the shingles). POURED rain. Went out after the storm and all was dry inside. WHEW!

Double rainbow after storm

Coop. Still needs some touch up on the edges and flashing, siding and paint.

Love Gollum!

looks like IL and ID got hit with a bunch of tornadoes... don't know how severe yet. Hope everyone else is doing ok, I think Raz was getting hit by some of the storm. We had some power blips, rain and some wind so far, but nothing else.

This certainly has been a day of challenges. The morning's started at 8am with the doctor's physician's assistant calling to tell me that the antibiotics they have me on aren't going to work and that I needed to go the the hospital emergency care to be given an IV administered antibiotic. It seems the post operative staph infection I have is a drug resistant and potentially life threatening strain referred to as MERSA. Needless to say lying in a hospital with a IV inserted in my arm wasn't how I had thought I would be spending my morning. A mere 4 hours later I was back home and finishing my crosswords.

Since I have a newly opened wound in my arm, my family has decided that I am not allowed in the chicken coop for the immediate future. So when the weather alert indicated strong storms were headed our way Hope ran out and gathered eggs. She had just gotten inside when the clouds opened up. Now the storm has past and calm has once again returned.

If you think about it, if also how life happens. So when we face each storm in our live we need to remember the calm will always return.

Mersa ....geeze Sam, that's some nasty stuff!!

Keeping fingers crossed for you that it clears up with no issues for you. Glad hope was there to help you out. Please give yourself time to heal, there is always a silver lining, we sometimes have to wait for it to show it'self.
