Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

With warmer temperatures on tap for today going outside isn't quite the task it was just a few days ago. While their are many things I need to do one of the most important will be to get a Valentine remembrance for both of the ladies in my life who put up with me throughout the year.

While our weather has abated somewhat, it appears that the folks in the south are going to be presented with more weather that they aren't equipped to deal with. Originally from the south I have witnessed how difficult things become in areas where isn't the equipment to deal with the snow, nor houses insulated for cold, and most importantly, people with the skills to drive on slippery roads.

Winter snow has presented my problems for us this year, but nothing like the people in the northwest have had to deal with. Many areas that haven't yet recovered from the last storm are once again being battered by another storm.

I saw the pictures of the south roads too. They only got a couple inches!! I was remarking to my friends that maybe we should put a fun driving video of how to drive in snow (with our roads of course :p. ) They really do need something like that though, if at least to demonstrate stopping and sliding needs. And that isn't even accounting for fancy redneck driving and sideways stopping when needed :)

Maybe there is something wrong with me.
I'm starting to enjoy all of this snow.

It has been amusing to watch the porch people get stuck in their driveways because they don't shovel.
The road to Lansing yesterday had lots of cars in the ditch and median, due to driver error mos.t likely.

And I got to pull a stuck van out of a driveway in Ann Arbor before heading for home.
It's been like a "Keystone Kops" movie.

Don't get too excited only 34 days 19 hours 51 minutes until spring! The snow days are limited.

I too don't mind the snow, I love the white over just about everything. Just not the roads. And I don't like the negative temperatures!

As much as I want Warner temps, I dread the melting snow. Living on a dirt road means I'll be seeing lots of ice come Monday. My road will look like a Zamboni went down it!
The chickens were basking in the sun this morning. I think they're enjoying the warmer weather too.

My silkies are laying! FINALLY! They were hatched in May and June of last year and I FINALLY got my first 3 eggs from them today! (I should probably find something to do with my extra cockerels......)
