How would you have 'used' it?  Something out there will eat it, so not a total waste.

The fur is still good for a bit longer. Someone at chicken stock took home a coyote fur chicken apron a couple years ago.

I'm pretty sure it was Taprock that posted pictures of a beautiful coyote fur bed comforter last year.

I wouldn't waste my time with a pelt at this time of the year... they should be blowing the coat.

Well my Muscovy laid a 9th egg in her nest today, but for the 1st time, she actually covered the nest up with straw. I'm hoping that means she will keep these and sit on them soon. I don't know how long to let her keep laying and not gathering them to see if she will go broody.

my turkeys are doing the same... they'll lay and cover to hid the eggs till they decide to sit... 10 eggs or so. good luck!

Well, since I'm not eating or using them, I will give them some time... You could try to date them, then remove the older eggs (I think they're viable for about 10 days or so)... if you want to hatch your own, I would just pull what you want anyway.

My turkey eggs, if they don't sit, I pull them after a couple weeks and sell them to Gail. I'm not hatching any birds this year unless they manage to hatch their own. One year, there were 30 eggs in a turkey nest.. my bbw tried to brood them and ended up crushing them... poor girl. LOL! I lost my good brooding hen to prolapse a couple yrs ago. Kinda hoping one of the new royal or chocolate hen
will make an attempt to brood.

Well headache put me to bed yesterday afternoon. Chickens did not like being sent to coop early (for their own safety) and today though a bit better outside is chilly and rainyish out so I neglected to let them out and spent the morning lying in bed with the cats. I'm normally out when they are or where I can keep a good eye on things from a window for short spurts.

1 of 5 eggs was smashed in the same nest again! Either they are scuffling for the box or there just isn't room for the fifth egg in that box. Only once did I get 5 intact eggs.

Coyotes fur will not be good this time of year, unless u r in the u p .lve fur trapped and done nuisance control for a long time. They will be starting to shed by now and the skin changes from a nice creamy white to blue. When shedding starts the skin may not tan properly, usually leads to disappointment. At least it's one less chicken eater!!!! Thank you for that.

So much accomplished and still so much to do.
67 degrees outside and quite windy. So much better than that white stuff some of you love so much.

I cut a limb off of the golden willow so I'll sprout some branches for CS if anyone wants some.
