For the gardeners in the group....when do you all usually plant potatoes? I'm reading that you can do it a few weeks before your last frost date?

To me, both of those SLW look pullet-y, but if one ends up being a boy I'd say it would be the 1st one. My 'dotte boys all pinked up WAY before the girls did.

My injured hen is perking up a little bit. She's using the injured leg a bit more, and her toes aren't just dangling loosely. Definitely not normal by any stretch, but not quite as bad as it was.

Sorry about that, I should have said Brahma's. lol  When you say pea combs, are those the combs that some hens have? I guess 1 rooster wouldn't be bad out of the group. Still need to post the 2 wyandottes and get an idea on them but I'm still gonna keep the EE even if he's a roo, I like him. Thanks

EEs, ameraucanas, Brahmas , and a few other breeds have pea combs. Wyandottes have rose combs.

All my lovely ladies have an updated album found in my signature (which you might not be able to see if you're using a mobile device, though)! I'm hoping she's a girl -- I'm so attached to her!

If not, I hope to find a home for him at Chicken Stock. We've already given her a bath and blow-dry and she loved it!

Our sweeties are moving into the coop tonite! I'll send you a picture when they get into it. Yay!!! :weee
It's kinda chilly down here, so I hope they'll be alright! All of them in a bin, peeping to each other as usual

Raz, how is a pack of bees measured? Is it a rough count or by weight, or just random? That looks like a lot of bees!
Usually they are by weight, typically 3 pounds of bees and the queen in a small cage. Relatively speaking, that is NOT a lot of bees.
