Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Wow, tap, certainly some excitement for you!

Gonna have lots of excitement here today/nite; tho, not chicken related.

BIG wedding next door today (230+ people). So glad it looks like it'll be a nice day. I had the week off & have been working my butt off to get our yard in order so it looks nice ... And, man, am I SORE! Still a few more things to do here, then told neighbor I am at their disposal for any help they need. The tent for the reception is massive. Our property will be part of the parking lot ;)

It's gonna be a beautiful wedding & a good time AND We certainly don't have to go far to attend:D

Just hope the birds can stay quiet for about 30 minutes during the ceremony ....

They are doing something unique instead of a unity candle (well, i think it's unique, maybe not so much for farming folks). Neighbor went to the peonies planted on our property line to get some dirt. Asked her, what ya doing? The dirt is from her DH's grandparents' farm. During the ceremony both sides of the bride & groom will bring soil from their farms, the great-GPs farms, etc. & put it all together...sounds pretty cool to me...I'll prob have a better descrip tomorrow..so I'll quit rambling...

Have a great day, all...can't believe 10th nice weekend in a row (well, til tomorrow)..

The Sears delivery people just called and they are bringing a refrigerator out as a replacement for the first one that they delivered dented. This will be the 7th one they have brought out and this is starting to get a little stupid.

After they leave I've got to pick the wild blackberries from the edges of the field and then the tame red raspberry patch behind my garden needs picking as well. I should have enough berries to make at least a batch of freezer jam from each.

There are several bushes growing along the edges of my back field I'm hoping someone can identify. They are about 7' in height, have similar leaves, but the berries on one are bright red and bright orange on the other.

I looking for some paint silkies. I just want some pets. I live in Calhoun county. thank you

Looks like the invasive Honeysuckle we have all over the place here. The only good thing about them is the chickens eat the berries and the goats eat everything.

Neat!

Well i got to meet china's family and brought her so they could be assured all was well (and my little roo since he is slowly taking a real shine to her) but on my walkabout i saw a turkey on her side, eyes closed one leg foreward...... either broken or merecks. So got the heck out of there. :( (we met in the parking lot)
Merecks is probably the only chicken disease that scares me; it is not adapted to easily and being as i only have one trio and one quad i could lose everything. :(

On a happier note, i checked out the "hunting blinds" in person and there is one i deem worthy. Some of them were slapped together decently, but looks like the newer ones have slats under the shingles for roofs and not plywood. If they were tighter fit i'd have preferred it, but there were 1" gaps in some! But there were decent ones and for $435 for a 6x6 shed is a good deal and better than i could build ; P
