Misty hollow, they don't call it chicken math for nothing, ;D I wanted eggs and i got a very expensive hobby (but at least my fellow hobbyists are good company!) It is a very interactive hobby, which being an introvert usually i really am surprised how much i enjoy meeting other "chicken people". Also i did not expect to become a walking library of genetic info, or memorizing a whole book of chicken veterinary skills...... creeps up on you. So enjoy your new headache, lol! You have pretty birds too

I spent the last 3 days after work making zucchini bread, with my mom & best friend. Man am I whooped!

I started with this.... (the picture does not do them justice, they're mammoths!).



And ended with this...




We baked 66 loaves!! I came home with 22 of them... Gave 1 to the neighbor, family ate one, 2 on deck, and put 18 in the freezer. Yum.

I just got back from Maine and have about a gazillion of those suckers that are the size of mailboxes, lol! Better yet I can go out and pick a few dozen quarts of blueberries and the bushes still have 9/10's of the berries ripening! I'll be into the jam for sure!

Hey, is anyone getting inundated by butterflies lately? I have seen more in this last week than I have in all my years living here. All different sizes and colors. They are gorgeous! The hummingbirds seem to have disappeared though.

Well, I have an awesome zucchini bread recipe, turn those mailboxes into loaves of deliciousness!

For about the last 4 nights or so, like clockwork, we have had the "wonderful" aroma of skunk outside our house. So we're thinking we have yet another non rent paying, freeloading, animal living on the premises. We're guessing either under our porch, or under the hot tub. We have 3 live traps that we keep set up out by the meat chicken's pen that we will bring up & place in various places around the porch/tub. But what should we bait it with for a skunk? Is there anything that works more amazing than another?
